INSTITUTE FOR FOUNDATIONAL LEARNING (IFL), TAAL VOLCANO ERUPTION OUTREACH
Institute for Foundational Learning (IFL) is a non-profit organization intensely dedicated to bringing souls to Christ through: Agricultural Technology, Educational Training and various mission program. Under the direction of Rev. Patricia Capwell, with the help of many volunteers, IFL continues to serve the Philippines with expansions into other Asian countries.
Update from Rev Pat Capwell:
We are in what is considered the “danger zone” but at this point, we are OK. We are as near as Lipa City, Batangas, which is about 40 kilometers away. The latest report is that there is a very high possibility that the volcano will fully erupt within days or weeks. We have no way of knowing. Since Sunday, we have had more than 350 earthquakes ranging from as small as 1 to 5. There are now fissuring in several areas surrounding and near the volcano all indicating an ultimate eruption.
People are being forced to evacuate. We will begin to take people into IFL as we have 4 schools and several churches in the immediate area of danger. There are more than 20,000 people forced to evacuate so far.
Please get the info out ASAP. We are already assisting, so, if there is any way you can get the message out to all your friends to send much needed financial donations, we can use all the help we can get. Maybe they can just send the donations to you and then you can send it to our special disaster acct for IFL:
Maybe the church you are attending will adopt us as a project. If a total eruption takes place these people will be permanently displaced and, at best, they will be months away from returning to their homes. Their needs are super great. I am asking all our family and friends to help us as this need is huge and very, very, very close to us as well.
Thank you in advance for any support you can give.
Contributions help provide shelter and food to the TAAL Volcano Eruption Victims.
